A Simple Process to Our Natural Approach

Free Initial Consultation

At the free initial consultation you’ll meet with the physician to discuss the concerns for your childs health, their medical history, any medications they’re taking, and most importantly YOUR GOALS. We want to be certain that our program is going to meet your child's needs and that there is a HIGH probability of success for them – BEFORE we move forward to the next step.

Detailed Assessment & Treatment Plan

Once the free consultation is complete, and we agree to move forward, our next step is the Intake appointment.

At this appointment, the Acupuncture Physician will do a detailed assessment of their symptom pattern, medical history, and other factors to determine the root cause of your child's health issue and devise a specific treatment plan tailored to your childs individual needs.

Their first treatment session will be performed at this time. Treatments consist of gentle pediatric acupuncture and/ or non-needle techniques. You will be given a copy of the treatment plan with exact, easy-to-follow instructions. The treatment plan will include dietary and lifestyle adjustments as well as as key supplements, homeopathic,

and herbal medicines if needed.

Active Treatment & Symptom Resolution

You’ll return with your child for once-weekly visits to ensure close support. We want to make sure your treatment plan is yielding the expected results:

  • Improvement in Mood

  • Increased energy

  • Better sleep

  • Improved mental focus

  • Healthy digestion and metabolism

  • Symptom Resolution

Your child will also receive treatment consisting of pediatric acupuncture and/or

non- needle techniques such as acupressure, pediatric massage (ShoNiShen), & laser therapy at each visit to ensure that their neuroendocrine system (the delicate connection between your nervous and hormonal systems) is rebalancing in a way that results in optimal health and wellness.

Techniques will be taught to the accompanying parent/caregiver so that ongoing maintenance can be done easily at home.

Transitional Care As Things Stabilize

Once we see stable improvements, we will begin to reduce the frequency of visits. This usually occurs after about 8-12 visits. Initially they’ll come every other week, then once a month for a couple of visits, then they will no longer need regular treatments.

We’ll be here in case you ever want to come in with your child for a tune-up or to address other health concerns.

Of course, MANY of our patients do wish to continue with “ongoing maintenance” and we are happy to work that out with you, should that be your wish.

Taking Care Of Your Friends and Loved Ones

We pride ourselves on the fact that 80% of our new patients are referred to us by other patients or people in the community who have witnessed their friends and loved ones receive life-changing benefits from our work.

So, we very much look forward to helping YOUR friends, family, and loved ones on THEIR journey to a more joyful, energetic, healthy life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Many of our pediatric therapies involve non-needle techniques and children respond very well. If your child requires pediatric acupuncture rest assured that the needles are extremely thin and cause little to no discomfort.

We understand children aren't keen on needles so we try to refer to them as "taps". We encourage you to do the same when speaking about acupuncture with your child and avoid using terms like needle, poke, stick, and prick. "Tap" refers to the tapping that is done to desensitize the point prior to inserting the hair-fine pediatric needles creating a pain free experience for your child. Pediatric acupuncture is a very quick and needles are not left in for very long if at all.

Yes, you will receive specific easy to follow dietary recommendations based on your child's unique needs.

The great thing about our medicine is that we find the root cause of the problem and once it is addressed you no longer depend on our treatment.

We also offer phone/skype consultation if you find the travel distance to be an issue. Click here for more information.

The vast majority of the time there are no conflicts and, in fact, our patients are often able to reduce their medications after working with us. There are specific types of medications that do have a lot of documented interactions so we will make sure we know what you’re taking before we start.

Everybody is different and the time prognosis varies. However, most of our patients feel better soon after their first couple of visits.

Acupuncture has been shown in studies to increase endorphin secretion (a natural mood enhancer and relaxer). It also has strong balancing effects on the neuroendocrine axis (the communication between your nervous and endocrine systems), enhances neurotransmitter function, and dramatically reduces stress – all of which benefits their mood and enhances focus. Making acupuncture a safe and natural alternative or adjunct to your child's behavior and developmental care plan.
